Administrative Grant Manager for ERC Synergy Grant “DynAMiCs” (m/f/d)
The research group of Joël Ouaknine, in conjunction with the Saarland Informatics Campus, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administrative Grant Manager to support the recently awarded ERC Synergy Grant “Dynamical and Arithmetical Model Checking (DynAMiCs)”.
We are looking for a dedicated professional to oversee the administrative and financial management of the DynAMiCs project, ensuring its smooth operation and compliance with ERC regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge research initiative at the intersection of theoretical computer science, mathematics, and logic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Administration: Ensure compliance with ERC guidelines, manage reporting requirements, and facilitate communication with funding bodies.
- Financial Coordination: Monitor project budgets, prepare financial reports, and track expenditures in coordination with university financial offices.
- Project Management: Support the research team in organizing meetings, workshops, and conferences related to the grant.
- Human Resources & Recruitment: Assist with the hiring processes for research personnel, including coordinating job postings and onboarding. Communication & Outreach: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, maintain project documentation, and contribute to dissemination activities.
- General Support: Provide administrative support to the Principal Investigators (PIs) and ensure the efficient execution of the project’s objectives.
- Grant Support: Support researchers at the Saarland Informatics Campus in their application for other third-party funded projects.
- Public Relations & Science Communication: Communicate research of the Saarland Informatics Campus in a comprehensible manner, for example, via press releases.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in administration, management, finance, or a related field. Prior experience in research administration or grant management (preferably in an ERC-funded or similar EU‑funded project) is highly desirable.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and handle administrative complexities.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting within an academic or research setting.
- Communication & Language Skills: Excellent command of English (spoken and written); proficiency in German is an asset.
- IT Proficiency: Familiarity with standard office tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite), LaTeX, and financial management systems used in research institutions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an international research environment.
